![]() Zyxel P660H-D1 ADSL Router In addition the arrival and gradual roll out of broadband communication technology in the form of Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSL) and cable, internet connectivity speeds have now increased. The terms of the the home user subscription to these services means technically only one user can connect at any one time. Anyhting else is not likely to be supported by your service provider. Having said that there are technologies available that will enable the home user to share their broadband connection. This means that all the computers in your household can now share the same fast connection in addition to being networked together to share files, printers and even play games. In the past the only solution was to install cabling within the house to connect the computers together. This can be expensive and still remains an option for those concerned with speed issues. Wireless networking provides for a maximum speed of 11Mbps, whilst cabled networks can cater for up to 100Mbps. Often the maximum speeds are never reached but for Internet access wireless speeds are more than sufficient. Whilst the wireless networking components can be relatively expensive in themselves these will often work out a lot cheaper than installing network cable within the home. If you prefer a standard cable network then again we are happy to do all the hard work for you. |
